The Entertainer
The character of Archie Rice, most famously played by Lawrence Olivier before Jack, is a vaudeville entertainer who has never achieved stardom. Based on John Osborne’s play, and with music by Marvin Hamlisch, it was directed by Donald Wrye. It also starred Ray Bolger, Tyne Daly and Sada Thompson.
