Directed by Billy Wilder, The Apartment was written by Wilder & I.A.L. Diamond.  Jack stars as a young executive hoping to climb the corporate ladder, allowing his superiors to conduct their extramarital affairs at his apartment. The film was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, including Jack for best actor. It won five Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay.  Jack and Shirley MacLaine won for best actor and best actress at Golden Globes.
