That’s Life

1986
Directed by Blake Edwards

Blake Edwards, who also co-wrote the film with Milton Wexler, largely based Jack’s character on himself, and Jack co-stars with Blake’s real-life wife, the fabulous Julie Andrews. It tells the story of a singer (Andrews) waiting for a potentially devastating test result while tending to her husband, who is on the verge of a nervous breakdown as his 60th birthday looms. Look for Felicia Farr (Jack’s real-life wife) as the fortune teller. The movie also features Jack’s son, Chris Lemmon, and Julie & Blake’s daughters, Jennifer Edwards & Emma Walton, playing their children. It was filmed at the Edwards own home in Malibu.
